Disorientated is spot on. Today has been a roller coaster for me. I have routines that I adhere to daily & today they were all smashed to pieces. In many ways I (& I think a lot of others) felt a personal connection. Whether they knew him, had seen him or had just listened to him, there was something very personal about the way he reached out to everyone.
I'm pretty amazed that you managed to maintain a presence here Steve and stay in communication and engage with others about their things today - That's very damn British of you and there's something remarkably apt about that today.
Petroc Trelawny (Radio 3) played Moss Garden Bowie's collaboration with Brian Eno form the Heroes album this morning as a tribute, very ambient instrumental, it seemed very fitting.
In 2004 i recorded my first 2 concerts of David Bowie. Back then i didn't know, that they are the last as well. Not just for me, but the actual last 2 concerts of David Bowie. Since then I kept these records safe in the archives and only few of my friends heard them. Now i let them spread into the world. Listen, share, download and most importantly remember.

Thanks! I've been listening to boots of the shows I saw.
It's quite a profound sense of loss for someone that none of us knew personally, but it seems we all connected with him and his art in some way, shape or form. I think what I was most blown away by was the fact that he actually released a goodbye album for his fans. I find that incredibly touching and quite emotional. What other artist do you know who would do that, without even telling you they are sick?
He continued to amaze until his dying day. We'll never see his like again.
For those who get Sirius XM On First Wave tonight at 9 pm USA Eastern They are having a Bowie special. They mentioned The Cure so I'm guessing they will play this
I still can't manage my feelings... Last night I was watching his last 2 videos (Blackstar & Lazarus), and suddendly I thought about Lazarus (from the Bible) 3 days after his death and blah blah blah... and maybe 3 days right after, we could think about "we have the music, we have his art..." and that would be his way to "resurection"... maybe I'm freaking, I know...
So, his last show was Hurricane Festival 2004... what a line up, man! Including The Cure, of course...
