forward to ~40 minutes or so. Really nice interview with our Reeves.
I've never heard Reeves speak before. I was surprised by his voice, but I like it. He sounds really "jovial." I was expecting him to sound more "too cool for school."
I was really touched by what he said at the end of the interview about closing his eyes while playing during a recording session and having DB be present there. I think DB absolutely was present at that moment, as much as he was on this earth.

Yeah, he is very unassuming & real. None of that "don't you know who I am" nonsense that a lot of rock stars seem to exude. He got pretty choked up towards the end of the interview.

Loving The Alien the 11 cd box set comes out in October I have been buying all of them. However I am not in a rush for this not because it focuses on his career from 83-88 but because there is nothing on that I don't already have.
Like most Bowie fans I love 70's Bowie and 90's Bowie but I have learned to love some of the 80's Bowie stuff and some of the dance remixes are pretty cool. I absolutely love the song "This Is Not America" he did with Pat Methany. The track Loving The Alien and the various remixes are pretty cool.

Anybody looking forward to this box set release?
isn't the redone "never let me down" in this? i believe there is some serious reeves participation on that. the live stuff looks good too. i have boots of the shows but i'm sure there will be a sonic improvement.

I have both those live recordings however these might be better sound quality. I'm not sure about the Reeves and redone Never Let Me Down it is hard to get an accurate track listing of the release even on Bowie's site it is not offing a track listing.

i'm pretty sure that is included in this box set. i've heard 1 song & really liked it. some very nice guitar on it. i'm sure there are some others that will be hating on it but i always liked that record. it did have some seriously cheesy 80s aspects though. i was always pretty hard core about bowie. i remember getting a free album of changesonebowie with a subscription to creem magazine. i wore that one out! i'm glad i got to see him a lot starting with the serious moonlight tour through the last tour. not a bad show in the bunch! & i got to meet him briefly when he did the "farewell to the hits" tour. obviously that didn't take, haha. was just listening to the "blackout" album today. so good! as much as i luv me some "stage", this is way beyond that.

WOW!!!
You got to meet him, that is one of my lifetime regrets was that I never got to meet him. I was forth row center for one of the Reality shows, but never got to meet him. I am learning to love some of Bowie's 80's music a lot of people do hate on his 80's period of coarse it didn't help that Bowie himself said he wasn't fond of some of his 80's contributions. I think there are gems and some great songs mixed in with what you described as "Cheesy 80s aspects" but at this point why not embrace it because he isn't putting out any new music. I have a Club Bowie cd that has some pretty cool remixes of some of the 80's stuff. I have been listening to "Welcome To The Blackout" I really like it.
The Box set that will follow "Loving The Alien" I am sure will have tons of Reeves on it once they focus on his career in the 90's. I wonder how far the next one will go and if it will include the Tin Machine releases.
