Okay so I went to see The Nick Moss Band and Ana Popovic last night and I brought my new camera with me. I thought I would test run it for dark concert halls! I must say, again, I am VERY impressed.
This first picture gives you and idea how far away I was This is with no zoom at all.
This is half zoom
This is almost full zoom. If I had gone full I would have been able to see his fillings. No need for that. haha
Of course I had to get Ana's shoes? Boots? not sure what to call them but they fascinated me. Even though I could not wear them for five seconds. haha
BRING ON THE CURE!!! haha Although I have to practice my focus a tad better they are not bad huh? Not as good as Mauro's but not bad.
Wow, Pipperoo - they are so clear! You must have a very steady hand!
I took this today - had no idea what the bird was as it was so far away. Took the picture, zoomed in, and fell over - it's a lapwing - what a gorgeous bird!
Thank you again for recommending this camera - it's brilliant!

Omg he's stunning! You are very welcome. It's literally the first camera I've owned I really love. Our birds are hiding except for a crafty blue jay I can't seem to capture. They are scaredy cats. Your bird pics are great! I am hoping our birdies will come back early from their winter vacation

Aw I love blue jays! Would kill to see one of those. One of my favourite UK birds is the jay - not as colourful as the US version, but still beautiful - I see them sometimes on the main drive at work. Going to have to get into the habit of putting my pocket camera in my car...

I have serious camera-envy, though! A man shared a hide with us today, and his lens was more than a foot long! I know - I should've been concentrating on the birds...
Need a lottery win...

I bought a bird feeder and some Nyjer seeds. They are allegedly famous for calling Finches and Songbirds! Well, within TWO minutes of putting the feeder our I finally got the little bugger!!! And he is a stunner........He knows he's pretty too!! This is an American Male Cardinal! Then the girlfriend came along too!!! I am so chuffed!!!!!
Those cardinals up there are amazing Pip - what a lovely bird to have fluttering around the house, and the Lapwing that Wren took, must have been a lovely sight - but my fave, uglyly enough is the stone evil courthawk...striking image!

I LOVE Hawks! I saw two red tailed hawks on the interstate earlier and if I knew I wouldn't get in an accident I would have snapped them too!!! I just looked up those you mentioned. Our red tails are similar!
