Bleh. I went to the chemist yesterday to pick up some prescriptions. I'm sort of a favored customer as I'm there most weeks. They told me they had extra COVID & flu vaccine & that if I could wait 20 minutes they'd take care of me for the year. As the timing worked well I said sure. I don't do vaccines well though. I'll probably be down on the couch for the weekend. Since it's the start of the NFL season this weekend it's a good weekend to vegetate.
After many, many delays we have just been notified we won our case against the NYC DOE that our child's right to a free and appropriate public education has been violated!!!!
This means we will *finally* (eventually) be reimbursed for the astronomical private school tuition we've now paid two years of (nearly $200k out of pocket). We can now go on a vacation. We can fix our bathroom, etc. etc.
This process has been a total mind f^ck and a huge stressor. I only wish that those who do not have the resources we have to fight this issue for their own children (and it is a CIVIL RIGHTS issue) would also receive justice for their kids.

Tired. I organise the clearing and the move to Munich until you get a low-cost offer, which unfortunately takes a while. But I finally got one. And then my old rented flat is history, finally!!!
But it was also time.
And now in the fall, I started finishing high school at night school. It's going to be stressful, but I think it's worth it.
So the year after next I hope to have my high school diploma in my pocket.
So these are the reasons I haven't been here for a while.
I walk wondering why, the same dream so many times

Child missed school yesterday feeling ill and woke up this morning feeling stressed and tired from bad dreams. They are someone who never talks about or remembers their dreams (said they were dreaming they missed their subway stop, in part). Described feeling disconnected, which I have felt after bad dreams for hours or all day. It sucks.
It's also our 15th wedding anniversary and my better half has been on the opposite coast all week. Missing him.
It is a beautiful fall day, though, and by this time next week I'll be in the UK!
