Feeling incredibly angry and depressed by medical gaslighting. Went to see another specialist yesterday who remarked, "It sounds like your pain isn't really impacting your life too much?" This is after I had filled out a survey indicating that pain and fatigue were *greatly* impacting my tasks of daily living, social and family life, and work. I can't even pull the trash drawer out without my hand feeling like it's being pulled apart from the middle. So much is falling on my husband now because I can't do much.
Two doctors have taken blood for a Shirt ton of lab work and then never contacted me once the results were in. I'm guessing that since the most important results were negative (thankfully ruling out things like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis) and they knew I could view the results on my own they felt they had no further responsibility to me. They had no recommendations for providers I could see next.
I hate doctors at this point. They can all take a leap.
Stomach trouble sucks. At least I don't have to worry about putting on weight during the holidays. I was a subject of a meeting of the hospital's gastro department & next unpleasant test isn't until Jan 2 as the holidays wreak havoc on scheduling.

Sorry to hear this, chuckrh. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you. @notkristie . BTW nice Xmas pic on your avatar. Enjoy the holidays.
Thanks! Those are shorts from when I had x-rays done two years ago. I kept them after the imaging. I must have been tipsy when the picture was taken. I also kept socks from my most recent MRI.
Enjoy your Christmas, too! I can't believe it's almost here!

They would just go in the trash, so it's not stealing!

Oh Kristie, that sucks! I know this is only anecdotal, but while taking care of my dad, we ran into this A LOT. Tests inconclusive. *dr shrugs* "take two tylenol and get more exercise". No solutions, no referrals, nada, STBY attitude. I ended up having to become the loudmouthed pushy daughter to get any info or direction from his doctors, it worked, but it made me hate myself for what I had to do to get him useful treatment.
Hang in there, be your own advocate, and don't feel intimidated about being a PITA to doctors, your health is important, and should be important to them too.

I guess it is a good thing that you are infamous with the hospital? Hopefully it will mean they might try a little harder to help you in the New Year.
I hope you can have a little bit of joy this holiday season. And if it is any consolation, I don't have any family get-togethers or friends parties to go to this year, so I won't have any temptations and therefore will be not gaining any weight either! Silver lining!
