No known epilepsy thank goodness. Turns out he’s had a fever. He’s in the pediatric ICU and get this, it’s his birthday today! My work is 3 blocks from his hospital so I’m going to pick up a cupcake next door to the office and a card and take them to the hospital desk. His mom will take them to him.
Good news are always welcome. Thankfully, kids are amazing creatures and often heal very fast.
One thing is certain, your neighbours have the best neighbour they could dream of.
Talked to his mom today at the hospital and while he did have a total of 5 seizures he's on a 24-hour EEG study and is now feeling well enough to want to be out of bed.
Posted what I believed to be a clever piece of obsevational humour yesterday. Clicked on 'Reply' and waited for my 'Notifications Inbox' to be bursting & the whole CC website to crash.
Nothing...absolutely nothing :-(
What did you post?
I'll post again
Watch this from Leipzig.
At 37 seconds Roberts attempts a Simon(esque) backward skip. Simon sees it coming and blocks him with a double hip swing.
At 53 seconds Reeves puts his arm over Simon's shoulder to re-assure him whispering 'Let him have his moment.'
As Simon drifts to the right of the stage he is dis-orientated by Roger's swishing hair.
At 1 min 28 seconds Robert seizes the opportunity and performs a double backward bounce.
Simon escapes from Roger's hair. Reeves comes to meet him. At 1 min 50 sec Simon asks 'Did I miss anything?'
'Nah mate!' Reeves replies, 'Do that standing on the PA looking moodily into the crowd thing. They love that!'
That was daughter's mum's favourite song. I still like the song. She (the cat's mother) could have liked any other song, and I'd have probably hated it. But I love The CURE.
I truly am burnt out, and I’m in serious need of a vacation. A bunch of us requested the week before Christmas and NY off, and today my boss asked me if I’d be willing to be ‘on call’ during that period in case of an ‘emergency’. I’m so pissed off that he asked that of me, like really go F yourself.

Tell him you will not be available.
You bet your bottom I told him that! The kicker is that he should have let us know about our vacation requests (it’s in our collective agreement) over a month ago, and he still has not confirmed whether they’ve been approved or not. Last week I found out that two more people are leaving our department, I guess many of us recognize that we’re on a sinking ship.

Make sure you're not the last one on board. It sounds like a very good time to look out for some alternatives and focus on your own well being instead of that of a (commercial) entity. And tell your boss he's fired.

Thank you! Im working on departing. I’ve been with the same org for forever and a day, but I’ve only been in this role since Feb of 2022!!! Ready to start something new once again.
Awful. Was in a car accident a few days ago (i was not driving and i will never get in a car with the person who was driving ever again) Not hurt but still a little rattled. It was one of those life flashing before my eyes moments. One inch more and it could have had a very different outcome. But as Robert would say, onwards.

Despondent. The holidays are getting to me. Not a new concept but it gets worse every year. Feel like a blight on the universe without much if any hope. I have a very hard time dealing with people at all this time of year. The fight is draining out of me.

Hang in there Chuck. The holidays are always this bittersweet time. They are supposed to be happy but a lot of times they are just a bother. 3 weeks it will be over and January will be here.
