I feel happy to be home but upset my husband has just tested COVID positive. I am testing negative but about 4 days ago I did feel as though I was coming down with a mild cold. Crapola.
Speedy recovery to Mr. K! It's terrible but we can't avoid that thing.
I'm pretty sure my 6-week long sinusitis is a post-Covid one. Such a souvenir after The Cure concert Just in my country nobody gets tested anymore 'cause it's very hard to get a referral to do the test for free and they are expensive. Even doctors don't want to know. They say it makes no difference now as it's no anti-Covid restrictions.
Thank you, lioness, and I'm sorry you are sick, too! Sinusitis can be so painful and draining, and it can hang on for a long time. My mom just had it, too. I hope you are feeling better today. I hope you have some good treatment for it.
After this trip I do feel like it's a calculated risk that is now part and parcel with travel. We wore masks on the planes and public transit, but we did eat inside at restaurants and go to the aquarium without them, as well as walk around everywhere outside.
Since I'm not immune compromised and being otherwise healthy, my love of travel is not going to keep me at home because of COVID anymore.

Thanks notkristie Today I feel like pretty everything around me sucks, including my doctor and treatment. But well, maybe tomorrow will be better.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
I feel a mixture of disappointment and sadness this evening. It's mostly about a behaviour of one of my friends that I can't really understand. No drama, actually I'm used to people letting me down.

This on top of feeling sick? I'm so sorry. People can be confounding.
I feel terrified, at the moment. One of the two little boys who lives downstairs from us was just taken away by ambulance because he’d had three seizures. He’s just five and so dear. As a mother, I feel like throwing up. I offered to sit in their apartment with the younger boy while he’s sleeping so both parents could go to the hospital but an aunt had already come over to help.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Ever thought of moving on from this friend?

Terrible to hear what happened. Hopefully, all will be okay and he’ll return home from the hospital pronto. Do you know if he has epilepsy? My friend’s sister has it. She’s about 36-37 now and her life has been an absolute challenge because of this condition. Anyway, hope that little boy gets through this. And you’re a great neighbour for reaching out and offering assistance to that family, I’m sure they appreciated the gesture.

My 6 year old buddy had RSV in September before it was a "thing". It was quite scary. He was in the ICU over a week & the hospital quite a bit longer. Luckily, he has bounced back but he was a month late starting kindergarten. His mom did a fantastic job getting him ready (& his 3 year old sister) during the pandemic as the preschools were closed. He's still ahead of his class at this point & should probably be in first grade. Mom actually has the same profession as you but had taken time off until the kids were both in school. I told her she's done such a good job that maybe she should think about opening a preschool. Anyway, I hate it when little kids are sick like that.

No known epilepsy thank goodness. Turns out he’s had a fever. He’s in the pediatric ICU and get this, it’s his birthday today! My work is 3 blocks from his hospital so I’m going to pick up a cupcake next door to the office and a card and take them to the hospital desk. His mom will take them to him.

What a crappy birthday, but thankfully, it sounds like he’s getting the care he needs. I’m sure he’ll be stoked about the cupcake!

Good news are always welcome. Thankfully, kids are amazing creatures and often heal very fast.
One thing is certain, your neighbours have the best neighbour they could dream of.
