I’ve been ill (not COVID) and oh so busy with work . Looking forward to feeling better.
Are you resting enough?
I’ll admit, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and barely resting, which is probably why I’ve been feeling so off with migraines and a few other things. I intend on spending Monday doing as little as possible. 🙃
I learned the story of another old friend who took her life last month. She went to the town we met in during the 90's by herself so that she could drink herself to death. My mentor met with her the day before she passed away because she wanted someone to hear her story. She told her she was choosing death by tequila, and had already had a (fourth) heart attack the night before from drinking. At just age 46.
Every time this happens I am reminded of why it's not the answer.

Just saw this. I’m very sorry to hear about your friend. And I wholeheartedly agree with you: it’s never the answer.
Miserable. I gave up wearing my glasses after 2 days. I was looking forward to being able to read stuff without struggling & yet the it's as if the right lens is making everything blurry while the left lens (for the knackered eye) seems okay. Not so bad with the computer as I can zoom the screen to be able to read without the glasses, but books & newspapers are a real hassle. Maybe I'm just not used to them but last thing I want to do is bugger up my eyes even more

take them to another store with your prescription. it's not unheard of for the manufacturer to mess up when making them. doesn't hurt to double check.

They have a 2 year guarantee so I'm going back to the optician tomorrow to see what the problem is.

That sounds really nausea-inducing. Can you turn them upside down to wear them so the lenses are switched?

I hadn't thought of that to be honest. Just tried it. Eeek! That's even worse.
Really angry. Went to the optician & told the lady my problem. She said they're reading glasses & that after a couple of weeks I would get used to it. I showed her the prescription & the guarantee card with completely different sph, cyl, & axis values & she explained that these are converted by the lens manufacturer. She asked me to put them on & gave me something to read & expected me to comfortably read something about 20 cm from my face! I told her that I don't read like that & in any case my computer screen is at least 50cm away. "But they're reading glasses. That's what you wanted", She said. "But I asked for the blue treatment to use with computer screens", I replied. "Surely that makes it obvious that's what I wanted them for primarily." I now have to go back Wednesday to have the doctor have another look & probably have the lenses corrected. Meh.

What a pain in the ass. On the bright side, at least you’ve gotten the ball rolling in the (hopefully) right direction.
