@notkristie - I sort of get where your spouse is coming from. I’m of ‘mixed’ heritage, and on paper one might think I wouldn’t need to be as cautious in the sun as I am, but oh man Oh man can I burn! Maybe you can bribe him into wearing sunscreen more often ?
Note : there are still quite a few tanning salons around these parts, so I guess tanning is still a thing ?
Ooooh, have you seen lots of places, yet? What are your main criteria for a new place? Are you selling at the same time? So many questions!!!
Seen some real shiatholes. Need to sell this to fund the next which is a bind. Want a view, something bigger & somewhere fairly quiet. Saw a place last year for a steal & someone from Budapest snapped it up instantly. Needed a lot of work, but it was a great price
Our needs are pretty similar. We definitely have a budget we cannot exceed and are also funding a new apartment with our sale (hopefully). We want relative quiet (11 years living on top of a highway), some dedicated storage and bike storage, outdoor space. Husband will be working from home for at least the next year (found out yesterday) and his office for the last 5 months had been the dining table. I hope you find your dream flat for under budget, steve!
This is such a ‘girlie’ thing to write, but I feel pretty fantastic today! Last night, I went shopping with a gf and bought some super cute summer dresses and sandals to I guess wear around the apartment! Seriously thought we had a great time, and it was the most normal thing I’ve done in a while. Except of course we were both sporting masks...

This sounds so nice... What a great reminder that we can still find bright and light spots and connect with others during this historic cluster.

And now I can say I’m the best-dressed person in this apartment! 😄 But seriously, walking around the market and browsing in the shops was the most normal thing I’ve done in a long time.

Slightly at a loss really One of the ladies who cleans the summer house I manage for a friend had had her family stay for a couple of days. This morning, when I went over to water alll the plants & get it ready for today's guests she asked me (genuinely) "What should we do with the rubbish?" I mean seriously? WTF? My initial answer was, "Why? Don't the bins work?" They had collected all their rubbish in bin bags in the kitchen when there is a massive dustbin out the front of the house. Not only that, they mixed all the recyclables with general crap so I made her kids sort it into different bins Last week the cleaners claimed the vacuum cleaner had died. I took it apart & emptied the bag. Not only that, the bag was so full that the build up of fluff & stuff on the filter was epic. Okay, it gets used 2 or 3 times a week for a whole house, but these ladies claim to be cleaners & couldn't even check that.

It amazes me when people don't know how to clean or take care of a house. There is a huge culture here (there wasn't where I grew up, at least to my knowledge) of having people clean your house for you because it's "beneath you." People just don't learn how to do it. Baffling. People should at least *know* how to clean up after themselves.
I am feeling unenthusiastic about standing in the blazing hot sun on the sidewalk for who knows how long to get another COVID test. I meant to get out today before the temperature hits 90, but alas, too many great downloads here and too much coffee are making me procrastinate.
Yesterday I got a call from the groomer asking me to pick up my dog immediately as he had, and I quote, a seizure. So naturally, I went to pick him up immediately. His groomer told me that Bingo was fine during his bath and blowdry (he gets this done monthly), but when she pulled out the clippers he started to whimper, tremble and then proceeded to Shirt himself. She apologized for having called it a seizure, as it was more of a panic attack. She said he was fine during the first part of the grooming, but started to panic when the clippers came out and when other dogs started to be groomed. I rescheduled his appointment and now the master groomer will groom him in a month’s time in a private room. Hopefully it’ll be better experience for him, but if it’s not, I don’t know what I’ll do! It’s weird, because he goes to this place regularly for doggie daycare and regular baths, and normally loves being there. Sigh I guess all I can do is wait and see.

All I can say is, I'm glad Bingo's number wasn't up.

Sounds like something's spooked Bingo but without having been there at the time you're never going to find out. Hope he's okay
Thanks steve I may see if they’ll groom him at my place, Perhaps he’d prefer to be groomed from home ? He desperately needs a cut, he’s starting to look like Paul, George, John and Ringo.
