I feel extremely fortunate. I’ve been Ill for the better part of the day, and My pup has not left my side (apart from when my neighbour took him out, we have an arrangement). He’s really the best, and I don’t know what I’d do without him. Nurse Bingo.
thank you @notkristie, but I missed this, now I’m questioning whether I deserve to have a pet
The vet did clean it out with saline solution, which is why it looks a little oozy. So glad she was able to see me on such short notice, all the staff at the clinic were superb.
sandgrounder - yes, the reason why the dog nipped me was because I tried to intervene during the attack. Luckily though, Bingo is fine, and is mostly back to his silly, playful self!

Yesterday I found another puncture wound that both the vet and myself missed. Brought him back to the vet, and they cleaned up the wound we just found and the old one. She says she believes they’ll heal on their own, but I need to go back again today so they can examine both wounds again. I am not being charged for either follow up exam. I’m hopeful but nervous. I just want my boy to be okay. Ah and they asked me to put a shirt on him to protect both wounds, so here he is in one of my shirts.

I hope Bingo is ok. It sounds like you have an excellent vet. My goddaughter has worked for a vet for a long time. Before that she worked for an animal rescue charity. I'm bragging on her as I helped raise her. She has turned out well.
chuckrh - they’re good at treating him, but poor at communicating with me. It’s okay though because yesterday I asked tons of questions and wrote down their responses in a notebook, so I feel better equipped to deal with this. In the end though, I just want him to be healthy and happy.

Sounds like some people doctors that I know all too well!
Afternoon lovelies. So something strange has been happening at our house, we have had a visitor that has been coming to visit us every day. I thought he was lost so I checked his collar and he had a number inside one of those barrel things. I got through to a lady and she said yes it was her cat and she lives around the corner so I said I would bring him home. Her husband answers and tells me the cats name is Michael and he's 18! They have only just moved here. So Michael has been turning up at my door every morning shouting hello!hello! So I bring him in because I feel guilty leaving outside. Am I doing the right thing? Should I stop letting him in? I don't have much experience of cats, just dogs and our dog is really not happy about this new visitor.
Then the heat disappears and the mirage fades away.

Hard to say if you're doing the "right" thing, but Michael looks happy as a clam! That's a really funny story. He's adopted you.
I guess if you're worried you could ask the owners how they feel about what you're doing?

Yes it is hard, I brought him inside for a little while yesterday as it's so cold outside, but when I put him outside he just sits there and I feel so terrible. Anyway he's back today and I guess I'm just going to let him stay until he wants to go home.

So Michael turned up at my door again this morning, this time with a sore back leg. I text the owner and she said oh yes it's an old injury he will manage. I carried him home and nobody there. I took him back to my house and he is currently asleep under the radiator in the kitchen. Nobody has come looking for the little fella, I'm going to keep him tonight. If nobody comes looking for him I will bring him to the vets Monday morning myself. I don't know too much about cats so hopefully you lovely cat people will help me out xxx

I'm sure his slave will come looking for him. If not then just be calm around him, try not to approach him from above (make yourself low and small). Coming from above instinctively reminds them of predatory attacks from eagles & stuff with talons. If his back leg is sore, try not to touch it too much. But do try the owner again in the morning. In the meantime, make somewhere for him to pee/poop. If the shops are still open get some litter & put it in a shallowish tray (not metal). You don't want to be having to clean that stuff off carpet, but if you do, use good laundry detergent as, if you don't get rid of the scent completely, he will do it again in the same spot.
