The both cats are fine. Lion is bearing somehow taking pills twice a day and hasn't had any worrisome symptoms since two months now. He plays, runs, talks, purrs and snuggles up as he always did and seems to be quite happy. As the crucial in his case test result was good we are not in a hurry and calmly waiting for an appointment with the famous neurologist. He is elusive, btw. I'm aware that all of that doesn't mean Lion is miraculously cured but I also don't pay much attention to my vet's words who is sort of trying to prepare me for possible coming of hard days. Possible is a key word, it doesn't mean sure, does it?
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
I stopped by my vet's office today as I'm running out of Lion's drugs. She told me she had spoken to the guru of neurology. He said he couldn't see the necessity of examining Lion as long as there were no new epileptic attacks. In this case I have hope, maybe unjustified but I do have it, that we will never meet.
And Lion showed his bad film taste this evening. He was watching Man of Steel on TV really long and carefully but eventually he got inside a big paper bag on the floor in front of the TV set and remained there until the end. I guess he finally discovered how bad this film was. There is still hope for him

A cat in a harness is totally disabled. Walking is impossible. All they are able to do is to give you that look...
We were at our vet to take some blood samples from Tayga. At the office there was no fun anymore as she was so frightened that she didn't move at all. Fortunately at home she quickly forgot about all the horror. Good food helped
We did the tests as on Friday next week she will be spayed. Lion was neutered as a little 5 months old kitten so there was no hurry, besides it seems that Tayga not once behaved as a mature cat female. We waited for the end of summer, then for autumn, then our vet wanted to wait till winter and then Lion got sick again so I stopped to think about it at all. Finally we have a moment for that. I hope everything will be fine, fast and without much suffer for her. Fingers crossed.
The windows in the house were open and it was windy. Something spooked Murray and she went running at which point the door slammed and amputated her tail, maybe two inches at the tip. It took two of us to get her out from under the bed, after which time our arms and hands had various bodily fluids on them.
Waiting at the pet ER, now. I’m sure they’ll probably just bandage her up and give her some pain meds. I feel so awful. I never thought we should use door stops for this reason.
So the cat is home now, but will have to have additional amputation surgery in the next two days. She is on LOTS of good drugs (got methadone at the emergency vet and was sent home with gabapentin and an opioid). She is NOT dealing well with the cone. She also had to go home on the subway because I could not find a car/taxi to get us home. So that was another stressor for her.
The vet was kind enough to send us home with the piece of severed tail. I had brought it in to them, although I'm not sure why I did. I knew it couldn't' be reattached. I contemplated cleaning it up and drying it out in salt, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I got home and realized that there are still some bits of her tail on the door that slammed. Time to clean that up, now.
