@notkristie - poor poor Murray ! So, she’s missing two inches from her tail ?
Yeah, but sadly they’re going to have to take off 1-2 more vertebrae tomorrow so the have s skin to properly close the wound. Right now, she’s high as a kite and comfortably resting.

Here is the lopped off part.
Oh man that’s awful, poor kitty ! I wish her a speedy recovery !
Murray went into surgery about an hour ago. Waiting for the "all clear" call. Apparently, her tail will be a good bit shorter since they'll need to remove a few more vertebrae. That will be hard to get used to for us humans. I still feel so sorry that happened to her.
Oh no @notkristie! I haven't read that before and didn't know. Poor, poor Murray! I'm so sorry for her. What a terrible accident... But remember that it was an accident. You didn't do anything wrong, it's not your fault. Nobody could know something like this would happen.
It's great that so strong drugs were given to her. It's the most important that she doesn't feel pain. And even if with much shorter tail she will be all right. She will learn fast how to keep the balance. I'm wishing her a very speedy recovery. Many hugs for you and stroking for her. I hope you will be home soon.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
And here's my Tayga. A little weak, tired and I think a bit in pain but recovering. I hope she will be better tomorrow. First hours at home she spent under the bed but finally went out on her own.
She's sending his best to her American friend.

Cats are surprisingly resilient. My old cat Millhouse had calicivirus & had to have all his teeth pulled. I was absolutely in bits. He could still eat though. Just not pizza crusts any more which were his favourite

Aw, she looks groggy but warm and comfy. Get well soon, girl!

Ugh that’s awful, poor poor Murray. In time though, she’ll adjust!
She's been here for about 20 minutes. Scooched her food dish over trying to eat with the cone of shame and is now staring at her reflection in the refrigerator.
