I agree with that. I could do with seveenteen secons, faith, pornographt and disintegration. But the top, THOTD and KMKMKM should Not have been in there at all!

i left the "Bimbo-minchia" bullShirts like "the Cure are better than the others whatever s*it they do" when with my deskmate discussed at 16 old age, he was a metalhead, at my age i gave up with it, so i non-vote on those charts for some reasons: 1) there are 90% of albums i never listened 2) some year mentioned in previous thread missed very high points and the albums i knew didn't deserve beeing voted as best album of the year 3) i don't assume the position of an expert, so maybe what i like can be the worst album of the year 4) i consider those kind of charts 16 old lads stuff, i just read them laughing sometimes for the results
actually the fact i like some live version of various songs doeasn't means i like also the studio versions and albums absolutely boring like Disintegration/KMKMKM/Bloodflowers in their interity don't deny me to like alot some of their songs played on stage between other songs i like...but it doesn't means i can judge albums like TheTop/The Cure/4:13 Dream as the very worst s*** they ever produced
Does it means i'm not a fan? maybe ...but if beeing fan means "have salami in the ears" well better don't be fan
Old stuff i grew up with, THOTD/Pornography/Faith/17secs/BDC/TIB and live perfomances(although sometime they ruined very good tunes on stage, i remember of a unlistenable version of Doin the Unstuck...), so i'm not forced to listen the whole album and jump from a song to another, thing i really hate i need to say some album like KMKMKM could be a not bad album, 10/12 songs are acceptable, but 20....so without 8 or so songs... after there are albums like WMS/japanese whispers i cannot place, i listen onec a year WMS but miss JW so maybe i would give to it a listen a year too
Well 1980-1989 too many good records actually,a lot of bands to chose from ,maybe the best era in alternative rock music ,well at least for my ears. Haven't voted yet, maybe i won't this time. But two CURE records (at least) have to be in the Top-25 actually. DiSiNTEGRATiON is the one,and in my world is the Number One ever made...
KMKMKM could be a very good album, if some songs were removed. I think I would have love it, if only the "dark" songs were kept on it. actually thought about burning such a CD

misswill0w Burn you mean flame them? BOY and WAR are not lyrically good and for U2 admission they really were at the time strummers not musicians, but that era that sound revolution was accepted, me included, as great. I could name you lot of songs U2 writed after the studio/recording session(party girl for exsample was inved in studio to fullfil the space on the recording)
