After an amazing show in Mexico City The Cure & their entourage make the 4,260 km ( about 6.7million Fender Bass VI’s) flight to the City Of Kings, Lima, in Peru.
Having watched the Aztecs try to build a city on a lake, the Incas saw the subsidence problem & decided to build Lima on a desert instead. Yeah, the fishing wasn’t so great, but that didn’t bother them because they had a plentiful food source in the native predators, llamas.
For those of you unsure, the llama is a quadruped which lives in big rivers like the Amazon. It has two ears, a heart, a forehead, and a beak for eating honey. But it is provided with fins for swimming. They are larger than frogs & they are dangerous. So if you see one where people are swimming, you shout, “Look out, there are llamas!”
The Incas did a largely good job, but their pyramids weren’t a patch on the ones the Aztecs made, perhaps because they got no help from aliens.
Lima is certainly one of the wonders of Peru, but not quite as wonderful as the country’s most famous export. Yes, the duffle coat-wearing, marmalade sandwich lover, Paddington Bear hails from deepest, darkest Peru. It’s rumoured that he learnt his hairdressing skills during a short lived apprenticeship in a Lima barber’s shop. Following a stint in prison, in England, Paddington befriended Knuckles McGinty with whom he shared his marmalade recipe. Such was his fame he even had tea with the queen, & became a true ambassador for the people of Peru.
Well, we’re pretty sure some people are going to this one & pretty sure they’ll indulge themselves on Ceviche with some cold Cusqueñas before hopefully seeing a blistering show.
Ignoring the black *sigh*, we should have enough colours for today’s set.
