It’s been a couple of months since our heroes trod the boards in Florida on their Shows Of The Lost World tour, so let’s hope they haven’t forgotten any of the songs for the start of their LatAm leg.
Today we hit Mexico City which, due to numerous legal actions had to add “City” to its name as it was felt that simply calling in Mexico would confuse airlines & holiday companies with tourists frequently ending up in the wrong place.
So City was added & google maps was updated within hours.
I’ve been in touch with our old friend & reliable source of information for this one.
Named after the world famous rally winning car the city was built by the Aztecs, with the help of aliens ,who put a massive amount of work into the pyramids, on top of a lake which made it really handy for fishing. But when the Spanish invaded, they weren’t too keen on the layout so they burnt it down & rebuilt it.
It has since become the most populated city in the world & gets to be even more of a crush every year as, due to being built on top of a lake, it sinks by up to 40cm (about two & a half iphone 11s) per year.
As a result the locals fiercely guard their personal space by wearing really big hats & even, in concert environments, playing massive guitars which experts claim to be counterproductive.
This claim is routinely shunned by locals who claim that the hats & guitars are big enough to be converted into boats should the need arise to escape the rising water levels.
Until this impending watery doomsday arrives, the Mexiconians (as the natives are known) can rely on getting around by taxi as the city has one of the highest population of cabbies in the world which, although handy, is sadly putting the traditional mode of transport out of business.
Whether they take a cab or stick with tradition we hope DarthBlood & fiveswinglive take a detour to try out some tacos el pastor alongside a few Concrete Ripples before heading to the venue for what we hope to be an amazing show.
So, you my be expecting the red, white & green for today’s set. But you’d be wrong
