Hello ! While trying to work my way through the intricate parts of Alone, I started thinking of giving Endsong a try as well, because each of those stunning new tracks had me under their spell so hard that I needed to deep dive into both, in search of the magic or something like that anyway.
So same process : by ear mostly, based on some shared live versions (thanks again to the people who record & share), mostly the Nantes 2022 recording (same goes for Alone).
Same process yes, but a very different beast here - a powerhouse in disguise of a stark and minimalist lament (or is it the other way around ?), harder to decipher by ear, to play & to mix.
I don't have the pro chops needed, but I gave it a serious try anyway.
Here's a download link for those who would like to give it listen
Finally had a chance to sit down with this. At 2:39 I started getting goosebumps. This is a terrific cover although I don't think you should be too shy of a lot more sub bass in there. This is a song that can bring down a large building. The guitar work is almost Gilmour-esque to start with & the fills in the climax are wonderful.
Thanks with this Steeve ! Really makes my day & will get me through the working day with a big smile all over my face !
I'll take your cue, add some sub bass and redo the mix ! Thanks for that feedback as I find it tricky to be sure when the levels are ok... After working for some time on a track, you ear tends to adjust very quickly, and then it's harder to tell if you need more of this or less of that.
& Gilmour, well - I'm honoured !!! I don't really care about guitar solos, except when done by a few guitarists, and Gilmour is one of them, so : Yeah !!!
