Ok, thanks steve. So that makes another Cure record? To classify in the 'More of The Cure' in thecurerecords, if if was a physical lp or cd?
Not sure. It doesn't physically exist other than on bootlegs (& the tracks that were on Curiosity & the Seventeen Seconds deluxe). & the pitiful quality apple music offers will mean it'll sound pretty ropey anyway. You're best off with a clean lossless copy of the radio broadcast I think. But, saying that, I don't think RS would have even authorised that going on apple music without hearing it first & deciding it was good enough.
edit: Just compared it to the original broadcast recording & nothing's been dome to it by the sounds of it
Well, the quality is 'another subject' i would say. I understand it's not reworked to improve quality, not remastered, maybe it sounds worst than any other recording, but still, it's there on the platform for long. There's the AOL session that doesn't exist physically. Also For example, Presence (Tolhurst's band) has an mp3 only second album. On Discogs, you can find the official discography, and also an unofficial discography (with the Melkweg bootlegs). But it's there on the Apple platform for long. Maybe there's been discussion to upload it but finally the discussion didn't go to the end and someone at the record company allowed it at the time thinking Smith had allowed it prior though it was not finally approved and it's just stood there because it was just forgotten, maybe he doesn't know, and if he knew he would say to take it down. There are things that were never officialy released, but we can find the records on thecurerecords. If it was phisical, it would be on there, wouldn't it, like a BBC session record. It's recorded from/made by the BBC, but it's a cure record.
