If you hit a cyclist with your car, it's probably a better idea to stick around, rather than drive away. Dumba$$.
Did you get hit? Are you okay?
In Denmark a lot of us wear helmets when riding bike. It really looks stupid, but it’s a cheap life insurance, and after seeing plenty of wide open skulls, I realize how fragile the brain (and life) is...
I’m wearing my helmet not only to save my life, but also to make a statement! It might not be punk or goth or even cool to wear a styrofoam hat, but it is certainly not cool to sit droolibg or paralyzed in a wheel chair because you wanted to look cool in your bike...
And besides that, if something happens to me, my children are doomed.
well... I might do an extra effort to look stupid... but I really don’t care! Hahahaha If I can make one or two laugh, then they are very welcome!

Look at you, tough girl! I'm so glad you wear a helmet (but you're smart, so I'm not surprised).
No, it wasn't me, but on my way home from work I saw a cyclist lying in the middle of the road. I missed the impact by about 15 seconds. Some stupid guy opened his door and the cyclist got the "door prize" at high speed, causing him to be thrown into the middle of the road and he had a nasty, gaping laceration on the front of his neck. Since I'm a licensed medical professional and know CPR and first aid, I always stop for stuff like that. However, turns out the cyclist was an ER doctor. He refused being taken to the hospital, although EMS let him know he'd definitely need stitches. I hung around and spoke with the cops, since I had a clear description of the stupid driver who fled the scene. He got out of his car and I talked to him before he fled.
I think of cyclist safety a LOT here, partially because my husband commutes to work via bike each day. I see lots of idiots here who ride their bikes *without* helmets while they have their kids *in* helmets on their bikes. What do they think will happen in the case of an accident? Their kid will be OK but they might not. That's a great message to send your kids. Duh.Save

We cycle round our city and both wear helmets. My husband was hit by a car and his was cracked right down the middle. I have also met a car door at high speed 😢

So glad it was just the helmet that got cracked, cradlehag. And I’m also glad you all wear helmets.
My neighbour in the other end of my building is a (insert words that we can’t write in public)
Wraaaaaaaah she is just such a biach!!!
I also have one particularly insane neighbor. We are two of the original apartment owners still living in the building after 9 years. The other week, she was standing outside our building *screaming*, "You're a farking birch!" at me for 5 whole minutes while I locked myself in the lobby to get away from her. I'm glad everyone on the street could see what a nut job she is because she is a real estate agent and works in the neighborhood. All that because I let the elevator repair man knock on her door to try to do some trouble-shooting on our elevator, which has been out now for 3 1/2 weeks. Since then she has said things like, "Don't ever speak to me or call me again" (I have never called her) and "Just you wait!" I hate apartment living so much.
People will help you most of the time if you just ask.
Doing things I am really uncomfortable with (building a web site, contacting an accountant, etc.) in the name of going into private practice. I was particularly dreading asking people for testimonials. Have gotten an enthusiastic, "Yes!" from three of the three clients I've asked so far. Wow, that was easier than anticipated. What a nice surprise!
I don't like this google translate button thing. Eugh!
Oh no The best thing about it (other than letting more people get involved in discussions) is that you don't need to use it. It's just there in case. Hopefully, when we upgrade the software, the button will become redundant & we can get rid of it.
