I read an article which stated that ageism in the workplace begins at 40! Not so long ago I was considered a ‘young adult’ and now I’m considered to be a crumbling ruin? Wtf!
I can absolutely believe this. So stupid. So, so stupid.

My former employer got rid of all the older workers who knew what was going in favor of young idiots with a lot of theories. They are paying the price now as shown every day on the national news.

This is the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen during rush hour. However, we got off at the same stop to transfer and I saw him put the cake stand down on the platform, which is basically a giant toilet.

The outfit impress me even more.
Such a great photo. If I was on that train I would have to talk to him....but I wouldn't ask about the cake
It does! He was definitely very nattily dressed. He was "aloof" when I complimented his cake carrying skills on the way out the door.
Strangers would approach & make a point of talking to me in the street
a) when my son was a baby b) when my dog was a pup
Maybe this guy has his own technique for engaging with people 🤔
Yes! Babies and dogs are magnets. I like that because I like talking to people. I can't remember often being annoyed by friendly people coming up to talk about those things. When it becomes such because someone is not getting cues, it's "bye!" + walk away.
Not everyone does like talking to strangers! That's why I put quotation marks around "aloof." But I had heard him talking to other strangers on the train about it. I have no idea what was going on w/ him, just an impression.
