If there was a way to capture the live treams in real time you'd end up with better quality aac's, but I don't know how to capture them live. Downloading the archived mp3's involve snatching the link in google chrome dev console. It shows up in the media-tab. Then paste the link to a browser, three dots appear, and you can download.

If it doesn't work for you, you can PM me addresses to the podcasts you wish to download, I can snatch the links for you. But I recommend learning how to use the chrome dev console, with that and the help of a couple command-line tools (ffmpeg and streamlink) you can rip almost anything on the web.
