After a short hop across the Irish Sea, The Cure arrive in Scotland’s largest city. Glasgae.
Founded by the Weegies a few centuries ago, it rapidly developed it’s own language that even google translate has'nae scooby what to do with.
Once the lingo was widespread enough, Weegies, speaking in Weegie could converse in public places confident no outsiders could understand a single word being said. & this is when they hatched most of their devious plots like throwing stones at the Gorbalonians which is Weegie for peasants.
One of their most well known plots was to travel all the way to Lord Rockingham’s XI’s residence & release a live moose. An incident that was historically documented in an ancient folk song which is still sung to this day & has even been plagiarised in commercials.
After an economic decline & a zombie apocalypse city life began to recover largely thanks to The Batman who saved the day by ridding them of the Riddler’s nefarious underground Buckfast racket that was fuelling every ned in the Gorbals, after which, he & Catwoman took their bikes for a cruise through the now ned-free Necropolis cemetery.
Having paid a hefty sum for the assistance, the city was unable to afford a Bat Signal in case the Penguin showed his face or the English showed up. Instead they have set up a unique system of alerting the dark knight of any trouble.
The Duke Of Wellington statue outside the gallery of modern art sports a traffic cone to signal that all’s well. Should the caped crusader, upon passing in his fancy car, notice this cone is missing. Then he knows he must get to the bat cave as soon as possible.
With crime all but wiped out, the Weegies were free to build steam ships, perfect their bell ringing & develop the world famous elixir that is Irn Bru. Although the more mischievous elements of the Weegie community still engage in rather less sinister plots where they have been known to sprinkle oatmeal into unsuspecting tourists’ beer. Something to be wary of when out for a quiet pint this weekend. But, perhaps more spectacularly, they tricked CNN into going to Edinburgh for the COP26 conference.
Anyway, gie-in it laldy in Glasgae th’ neet will be wilgy , screwjack , ohfuchsia , gothmaz , sandgrounder (& son), bobschmidt & carlfandango and we hope you have a stoater of a show. But make sure you get some scran doon yer like tikka masala & some local swally like Tennent's.
