A short hop across the border & The Cure find themselves in Prague.
Prague was once the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia until it felt it had to change its name following radio & streaming service’s total saturation of the Freddy Mercury-penned rhapsody. Naturally the authorities wanted to distance themselves from references to cold blooded murder, parent shaming & general lazy lyricism.
After a few long meetings running late into the night, the city elders came to an agreement & opted to use the title of Mega City Four’s song from the 1992 album, Sebastopol Rd, which reflects the feeling of sadness after leaving a loved one. Much like the leaving of the Kingdom of Bohemia.
This proved to be an excellent choice of name as very soon the movie & TV deals came flooding in.
James bond earned his license to kill in the city. The Radnicke Schody Steps pulled off a masterful representation of 18th century Paris in the tiresomely long Highlands time travelling romantic drama, Outlander.
So versatile is the city that it even played Tunisia in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier &, as if to show off, the Palác Živnostenské Banky was the setting for one of Bucky's murder fests.
Heading to the birthplace of renowned writer & part time Stan Laurel impersonator, Franz Kafka this evening, snoopy , pillowman , renny , charlottemargita , d4amick & alvin will be popping to an eatery for some Česnečka and vepřo-knedlo-zelo before getting stuck into some Radegast Ryze Hořká 12 (which, I’m told is twice as good as the 6).
Here’s hoping they have a stellar evening at the O2 Arena. The Cure onstage at 9pm local
It’s mustard & ketchup all the way for tonight’s set. So mayo fans are out of luck
