Hurricane Ida

Ida has become a category 4 storm & is hitting New Orleans any time now. Sustained winds of 150 MPH. This is really bad & it is the 16th anniversary of Katrina.

Looks like the knock on effect has hit New York as the city's been put into a state of emergency.


I know there are a few here from that neck of the woods & hope that you're all okay & not getting too wet right now.
As for those in NOLA, looks like power's being restored. Fingers crossed everything's all okay with you too

I became aware of tons of emergency vehicles around midnight, but Mr. K just came home from getting coffee and said, "you would not have known" anything happened here. But we love on high ground. I have to take the subway later, so we'll see how that goes. I'm know other areas in the city got it really bad. I'm so thankful we live near the top of a hill. 

my friends in NY/NJ all made it through ok except for some minor basement flooding. 1 left for Colorado yesterday morning. talk about good timing!
