Hello there,
I've downloaded Gimp to try to work on images.

let's say I have a picture of a bended tree, so it looks like this

and I want to rotate it 30° to look like this

I manage to rotate the image, but I can't save it like that, even when I click on 'export', finally the image is still \

How to save an image after I have made a change to it?

I was looking in the wrong menu, I tried Display - Rotate, and tried the 'cutting' tool,
whereas the solution is Image - Transform - Rotate, and then you can use the 'rectangle selection' tool

I'm not really sure what is the point of the first menu and tool i tried, but probably they may be of some use for something...

I usually use the transform>rotate option, grab a corner & rotate the image as far as i need & then confirm it on the rotate dialogue.

Why being able 'rotate' the image and having a 'cutting' tool if in fact it doesn't work, and you have the correct same thing (rotate and cut) that work elsewhere under another name? Anyway...

I find it easier to have a pre-cut png to rotate as a layer on another image.

I don't find it very easy and clear to use just yet, but i'm just beginning.
