I was looking in the wrong menu, I tried Display - Rotate, and tried the 'cutting' tool, whereas the solution is Image - Transform - Rotate, and then you can use the 'rectangle selection' tool
I'm not really sure what is the point of the first menu and tool i tried, but probably they may be of some use for something...

I usually use the transform>rotate option, grab a corner & rotate the image as far as i need & then confirm it on the rotate dialogue.
I was mislead by the firsts options i tried. Why being able 'rotate' the image and having a 'cutting' tool if in fact it doesn't work, and you have the correct same thing (rotate and cut) that work elsewhere under another name? Anyway...
