If you have the time and inclination, my son's class is studying "the world" (lol) this year in social studies and his teachers have asked us to get post cards from the far corners of the earth (can also be from other states in the U.S.). Each post card should have one fact about the place the sender is (interpret that any way you wish?). The postcard will go directly to his school, not our address.
The teachers asked us to reach out on social media, and since this is it for me, I thought I'd ask here. Please DM me if you are interested, and I will send you the address. Thanks so much. Hopefully some day SOON we'll be able to travel again and take him to all these places in person!!!

Brilliant idea. When I lived in Fort Worth I wanted to send postcards back to people every week & it was really hard to find anywhere that sold them. Count me in & I'll see if any of the shops down by the lake that sell them are open

Thanks so much for this, steve ! It does take some effort to find postcards. They don't have to have an image / picture that reflects where you are, if that helps. Seeing the different postmarks will be cool for the kids, too!
ETA: I guess it would meet the "one fact" requirement if people wrote how many times TC has played in their area, right?
I inherited hundreds of thousands of postcards along with other stuff. I've opened a shop. Alphabetisised thousands of the cards by town, others are sorted by theme. Some are complete collections to the same family address. Very rarely do I find one that does not mention the weather. There was one bundle, all postcards of dogs to a 'dear Robert, It rained in Newcastle, Love dad' 'Dear Robert, The train stopped in Carlisle for a long time, Love dad' 'Dear Robert, I'll be traveling early tomorrow, Love dad' - They were heartbreakingly something..I mean, at least the guy tried right? At least he tried!
I'll be DM'ing you Notkristie...everyone else..seiously, if you struggle to find a postcard I can send you a blank one in an envelope for you to post from your town. (Yeah...I inherited a heap of unused stamps as well (I've not alphabetisised any non England cards yet, so can't send you one from your town unless you are in England) PM me!
Quick update for the kind people who sent postcards in. We have not heard anything yet from the teachers as to whether the postcards have showed up. This week schools here are on break, so I'm hoping once the kids go back next week we'll hear news of their arrival.
Thanks again for your kindness and I hope to have some news soon!

I sent two! I hope the kids like the one I sent with the Mountie on it! 😉

@notkristie - I actually found one with a ‘naughty’ Mountie on it. Don’t worry, I didn’t send that one to the school!
I heard from one of the teachers that yes, the postcards have begun to arrive. Apparently the kids have been looking at one or two a day. I guess we (parents) won't get to see them in any form, but thanks again to all those who sent in!
