Gotta admire Reeves! He's not just sitting around waiting for Robert! haha This is from the show Friday July 18th at the Family Wash, East Nashville, Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Fr13nds.
Not sure where this is, but it's definitely not the Family Wash. That was where I was the other night and as you can see it's a totally different stage
Ok then whomever loaded it in Reeves fb page is incorrect or I read it wrong. Here is a screenshot from Reeves page where I got it. So you tell me.

About the two stages pictured in Nashville, looking at Reeves' Facebook page the stage with the "Play It Like You Stole It" banner backdrop is at Bourbon Street Blues where they played Thursday July 17 at a Reverend Guitars event for NAMM (music gear convention). The stage with the American flag painting backdrop is at the Family Wash where they played Friday July 18.
Pipperoo: It looks like one page post used the first night's photo to promote the next night's event. It did say "photo from..." but I think your confusion was/is understandable. Below the main description it read:
"(Photo from July 17 Reverend Guitars NAMM Jam the night before at Bourbon Street Blues.) — with Reeves Gabrels and 4 others."

Same here. I am a bit in love with what Reeves can do with a guitar.
I'll be honest, I've never really seen anything quite like it before in my life and I've been a professional touring musician since the 90s and have seen quite a lot! What Reeves does with the Cure is nothing like what he does on his own. It was like watching Hendrix or something. He gets sounds out of a guitar that I never even thought possible. Really nice guy too!

He reminds of Hendrix and pardon me but also Joe Satriani (I hope you don't feel that's an insult because I quite adore Joe). Two of the most skillful guitarists ever. (Next to Jimmy Page) and really the music of The Cure would not do this type of playing justice. Very different style.

Can't say I've warmed to Reeves guitar style.
He's a great guitarist, but I listen to the Cure to immerse myself in a dense, layered, wall of sound evolving to RS vocals. Sorry can't explain it properly. Some of the guitar solos (Porl's included) are just too much, too many special effects and screeches that break the spell.
Prefer Robert's guitar at the end of tracks like 'The Kiss' live, after which he smiles, says F**K and turns away as the lights dim. Magic!

About Reeves Gabrels:
Reeves Gabrels, a Grammy-nominated guitarist/songwriter/producer best known for both his work with David Bowie and his aggressive guitar style that combines the visceral energy of rock, the harmonic sophistication of jazz, the emotional honesty of blues and country, and an ear for the unusual. A furious cut-and-paster in the studio and an evil genius of atonal improvisation on stage Gabrels explores sonic extremes with a great, adaptive intuition for what each song needs most. He shows that his limitless technical and compositional skills can still shine without restraint.
Guitar Player's Editor In Chief, Michael Molenda says. "Gabrels is one of those guitar players that, quite simply, redefine guitar craft a bona fide 21st-century guitar god who deserves massive amounts of Justin Timberlake-style fame."
He will go down as one of the true originals in the guitar-hero pantheon, even as his fusion of fretwork and computer processing questions and redefines that instrument's very place in the rock canon. Among those who know him at all, he is either loved or hated but never ignored; this alone guarantees his staying power. You'll be hearing a lot more from him -- whether or not you know it's him you're hearing.
Reeves has also contributed music for film work by famed director David Lynch, and other bands and artists such as The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Brian Eno, Ozzy Osbourne, The Rolling Stones, Public Enemy and Natalie Imbruglia.
I like many others miss Porl, but Reeves is something different, refreshing and addicting
