There is nothing released after Disintegration that is as good as a discarded Disintegration track. I give you, Delirious Night:
Meh... It's kind of all over the place and no wonder it was scrapped.
I like most of the Wish era songs, but as an album it has it's flaws. I think some of the songs just don't match together because they've been written at an earlier period. Cut and Wendy Time for example sound like they've been forced to sound like Open and FTEOTDGS. While one of the best songs from the period, I think The Big Hand wouldn't quite fit the album anywhere. It's too Disintegrationish. Songs like Apart and TWIT haven't aged that well, even though they're beautiful songs. Now they sound pretty boring. I dunno, just my opinion... Maybe I haven't aged that well either.
could have been an astonishing album, those Lost Wishes instrumentals, but that's the thing with Bob...he just does the zen trip every time...like 'Fight' could have been a bad choice and it was and like 'Screw' could have been a bad choice and it wasn't. He just lets his head out and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Wish doesn't work for me as an album but there's some amazing songs on that record.

I never liked Fight until I saw them play it, am completely won over now - it's such a great riff

I do like that he does this kind of stuff...'Freshly squashed fly you mean nothing' - I mean, were you or I to write that kind of thing we'd hang our heads in shame and hope that no one finds our poetry..but he doesn't...And with the bravery of release and the surrounding superiority of his other writings it becomes classic English literature and can sit against Hemmingway or any of those 20th century greats that we read in our 20s.
I know I'm fawning over the guys writing again...just saying..yup..fight..Shirte but great in its being there..and yeah...now that would have made an awesome instrumental...like many on the Wish Lp would have also. I do think it's a shame that they seem to think that the songs need words when sometimes they'd be so much better without them.

Yeah, the Fight lyrics aren't great. It's all about the delivery - it's perfect for KMKMKM though.
