Felt it was worth revisiting last year's shows. What, for you, was the standout song from the whole year? & why?
For me I think it was Never Enough. What started life as a fairly solid rock single has been turned into an outrageous celebration of excess with some of the most incredible guitar work ever. It should have been like this right from the get go. I listened to paulwUK's Bucharest recording earlier & it damn near takes the top of your head off.
I'd happily never hear Never Enough again, it's become a stop-start stadiumwank crowd interaction thing. Not Reeves' fault, I only ever liked the Big Mix. I'd go with JOK or 39. I'd like to say Last Dance but it needed more moody stuff around it and needs to be indoors.
(i won't follow the 'one song' choice) wendy time - so unexpected and and i loved Robert on tambourine and it's a fun song to me, i wish the crowd would have been more into it maybe it would have stayed in the set. grinding halt - power song great to dance to (jump to), slightly less obvious than the 10:15/kaa duet, and fun dichotomy between 'halt' and 40th anniversary (i always 'wrongly' see TC as a 79 band). the australian encores - especially the extra b-sides ( but there were some missing, grrr!)
Just One Kiss. One of my all time Cure favourite songs since I heard the extended version in 83' (along with Siamese Twins and Lament). I didn't attend a show in 2012, so hearing it live for the first time was a great experience. From The Edge... Not really one of my fav', but a great version (even if Reeves playing is not really my kind), that made me put my hands in the sky for the first time since Paris 92'.
Then Pirate Ships and all B-sides played in Sydney. I would have loved to experience this...

Disintegration in Novi Sad.. But this song is a higher level for me, so to be fair to the other songs - Just One Kiss and Last Dance was a great surprise and I was lucky to see Wendy Time in Austria before it was removed from setlist.
