I couldn't find a Placebo thread, so I decided to make one.. Anybody likes them? or at least heard of them? They're one my favourite bands, so I'm curious.
I like a few of their albums (WYIN, BMM, SWG), others didn't impress me too much to be honest. But they're a decent live band. My best friend's a huge fan, so I go see them live with her when they play gigs in Germany.

I'm glad to see you like them They mean a lot to me because I can relate so much to their lyrics. (same thing goes for The Cure) I don't really have a favourite album, it changes everyday But most of the time my favourite one if WYIN. It is so filled with angst and honesty, plus the lyrics and Brian's voice are just beyong amazing! Unfortunately I have never seen them live!! But I will see them someday, hopefully this year! I could recommend some songs for the ones who haven't heard much from Placebo, if you want
They're one of those bands that I like when I hear them but I've never seem to get round to buying or playing their albums. Think I've got Once More With Feeling (or whatever it's called)
I love Placebo too. Especially the first 2 albums. The last album wasn't all that inspired but show me another band who released their debut album in 1996 and is still together AND putting out great material. They are still a great live band though. I'd say the first 2 albums are essential and near perfect, the following 3 were excellent and the last one average to good.
The debut Placebo and follow-up Without You I'm Nothing sounded like nothing else around at the time and still sound great today after all this time.

Placebo(the album) and Without You I'm Nothing are perfect albums, indeed! And I understand that you think their last album was way different than Placebo from 1996, but I like BFTS as well, it always cheers me up and it would be boring if they still sounded the way they used to, you know? Sometimes you just need to change, and I like that about Placebo, they're not afraid of experimenting and trying new sounds.. they always stay true to themselves no matter what, plus there is always something in their songs that makes you know it is Placebo :)They have one original sound, in my opinion. So.. what do you think about B3? (their EP released on October last year)
