So we come to the end of the European stint for summer 2019 in Paris or, more specifically, Parc de Saint-Cloud.
Considered one of the most beautiful parks in Europe it is home to Marie Antoinette’s rose garden & also used to be the site of the Chateau de Saint-Cloud where Napoleon reportedly met the Time Bandits who performed their debut of Me & My Shadow for the vertically challenged emperor.
As one of the wealthiest towns in France it boasts breathtaking views of Paris & its suburbs if you climb a high enough tree.
Thought to be named after Saint Clodoald, who had the fanciest ice cream in Paris, Saint-Cloud was, in fact, named after more modern day computing storage solutions & canonised by the pope because they were so darn good.
As for Paris itself, now we’re talking. It has even had a type of plaster named after it that has been extensively used by police forces, naturalists & bigfoot hunters to accurately cast footprints.
The city’s initial bid for a place in the world’s spotlight was boosted thanks to Grace Jones killing Achille Aubergine & jumping off the 2nd floor of the Blackpool Tower in her bid to escape from James Bond. The effect was, however, sort lived & Paris once again returned to its backwater status. But all was not lost.
After The Cure had set the city on its meteoric rise to fame by name-dropping it in 1987's How Beautiful You Are & subsequently releasing a live album bearing the city’s name it became the in-place bringing forth it’s most famous daughter, that a powerful sorceress Hermione Granger.
Well, that’s enough of the magic. Heading to the Parc this evening will be faith , bloodflowers78 , maccatori , ruegi , lolb , jumeteor , ghost , picturesofyou , indi14 , ohfuchsia , gothmaz , wilgy , Fabien G & bouch & we wish them a fantastique time after they wolf down their savoury crepes & quaff a few cold BAPBAPs.
Conveniently, the event poster is pretty colourful & looks like we might get to use teal again (colour of the year?).
