today is my last in the bowels of corporate hell. i've worked for 45 years in various guises pretty much constantly. looking at this as a new beginning. it will be a big adjustment but i think i'm truly ready. it helps that i haven't liked my job for about the last 12 years. bit of melancholy as the root cause of this is declining health. the hope is with less stress & more freedom i'll live a few more years than i would've if i kept working. i think first on the agenda is to sleep for about 2 weeks! about to transition to my new computer. fingers crossed that goes well!

Congratulations mate, I hope whatever you choose to spend your time doing, you enjoy it!
Maybe you could continue with this thread telling us of your adventures as they pop in, we'd love to keep an eye on your days! Like a diary: "Chuck's Daze"... or something...
My tip is to buy Lego Star Wars kits and build them. Then when you get sick of them, you send them to me!
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
You finally finished the escape tunnel then? Good for you Chuck. Here's hoping a lower stress lifestyle will give you a chance to recharge a bit. Good luck with the computer too
made it! the big boss (who hides out) even stopped by. computer set up successful. its a refurbished HP Probook with windows 10 pro. got a great deal on it. its a bit large but has a nice big screen. suits my purposes just dandy. such a relief to be basically out from under the corporate overlords. i lasted over 11 years which would qualify as a miracle. i'm still an employee technically until next year due to wacky process of retiring on disability. it does mean cash to me though. the dreaded 4:00 AM alarm on my phone has been deleted for the first time ever! nice that i have a bit of summer left to enjoy.
