I'm liking that the new album is 8 songs, as was the classic Faith, Pornography, and Japanese Whispers albums.
But when an album is only 8 songs, every track has to be killer with zero filler.
I'm sure they have come up with 8 brilliant songs in the 11 years they've had. I hope Please Come Home makes the cut and that the tracklist is chosen by the band rather than just Bob, who's made some dodgy choices on recent LPs.

That was such a lovely interview, though I had to laugh a bit at the fact that they had a 'meet the band' bit in the same interview that touches on their 40th anniversary (and as they even mention in the interview the current lineup has been stable for 7 years - plenty of time to meet the new guy(s))
So from "incredibly dark" and darkest album to now "downbeat and heavy" and "a little bit more doom and gloom" Seems somehow a bit watered down, compared to what initially has been promised.
