weedyburton79 The Lord Of The Rings is the greatest film ever made, I don't know exactly how many different versions I have or how many times I've watched - the 4k versions with Atmos are sensational, the blu rays are now remastered and also have Atmos so I guuess I'll have to watch them also .....
I’ve read all the books, but I’ve never seen the films! I’m taking a few days off at Christmas, so I’ll be sure to watch them. Excited!

If you have a 4k tv the 4k discs are sublime - the Atmos audio especially so. If not, the newly remastered blu rays are a good second pick, they now also have Atmos. If you don't have them, I know somebody who shares films and stuff ...... As for the books, I had three new editions delivered over the past ten days, two in presentation boxes and the third with replicas of Tolkien's original drawings and scribbles. I even bought the ring and chain, exact replicas of the film props, silver chain and gold ring - cost a few grand, but, well worth it I think. Only problem is it doesn't work, I hear Kate getting the VAX out so I casually slip the ring on and head for the door, but she sees me, my turn to vacuum, again. I guess I'm a bit of a Tolkien addict!
@mort - I’m pretty sure I have a 4K tv, but I definitely don’t have the 4K disks. I was gifted the extended versions of the dvds years ago, which I believe was long before the fancy upgrade to 4K.
So cool that you have a replica of the one ring (although by the sounds of it, your wife might disagree ! Do you have any photos of it that you can post ?

If you want The Lord Of The Rings in better than DVD quality I've ripped the blu rays to 15GB x265 mkv files, if you want the real thing I made 4k x265 mkv files a while ago

That sounds great, but I don’t know what a mkv file is! I’m sure I could figure it out though! Are you able to send this file via a PM? Thank you for your kind offer.
Stuck in a train halfway to Valladolid, in the middle of nowhere. We have been more than an hour with the train stopped. Apparently, a major breakdown on the railroad. Some friends waiting for me in Valladolid for dinner. Great...
Back in the mid-2000s, my wife and I and our friends all took an entire day and watched all three extended cuts back-to-back-to-back. This was early days of home theaters and all. It was a marathon, but a lot of fun!
I watched such a LOTR all three extended cuts marathon at the cinema. That was a great night but it happened to me to fall asleep for a while during the Return of the King and my butt was really sore after so many hours of sitting in the cinema chair.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
