Nice colours, music, pleasant slow pace. But it lacks of dramaturgy and the main female part as an eternally frightened child was very tiresome for me.
Thanks for this. I had been vaguely interested in it, but I think I'll pass.
Okay so I watch 4k blu rays, but, couldn't resist watching the remastered Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings blu rays - they look brand new again, even better, the audio has been upgraded from 6.1 DTS-HD MA to Dolby Atmos and TrueHD, my speakers approve.
Please report back re: how hot Timmy Chalamet was.
Spends the whole film moping over Spiderman's girlfriend. Took his shirt of a couple of times. I'm sure he's very pretty!
Film has it's moments but is constantly dragged back by dreamy slo-mo sequences which kill the pace. Duncan and Kynes are good but not enough of the other supporting characters. Very faithful to the book, possibly too faithful cos I know the book so well...
So, we watched this the other night. Although both my wife and I are Lynch fans, we've never seen his adaptation, and neither of us have read the book.
We enjoyed the movie, but felt like we were missing a lot because we haven't read the source material. Also thought the dialog was mixed really quiet. Had to rewind a couple times to catch missed dialog. Eventually just turned on subtitles.
The movie is beautiful, though. Stunningly beautiful.
Back in the mid-2000s, my wife and I and our friends all took an entire day and watched all three extended cuts back-to-back-to-back. This was early days of home theaters and all. It was a marathon, but a lot of fun!

The production design of the Lynch one is absolutely stunning. Casting too is absolutely perfection but it so obviously has a couple of hours missing and some stuff like the shield and thopter effects were poor at the time. Still love it!
I've warmed to the Villeneuve one and have been dipping into it quite regularly, glad the sequel is greenlit and currently reading the Art book which is nicely done. I thought the audio was a bit nessy at the cinema but at home the answer seems to be the louder it is, the better it sounds
I am a massive Dune geek though and have read the FH books (not the BH/KJA nonsense) far more than healthy.

Finally got around to watching this. We have loved everything Flanagan has done that we've seen. This one was a bit different. Interesting take on grief and religion. Love the first three episodes. The middle took a turn that initially felt out of place with the initial tone, but that unsettling may have been intentional. I don't think as a whole it was as strong as Hill House or Bly Manor (I agree with critics that it was *very* monologue heavy), but there were individual aspects that were simply outstanding... Hamish Linklater's performance was stunningly good, and what the show had to say about organized religion was spot on, to name a few.
weedyburton79 The Lord Of The Rings is the greatest film ever made, I don't know exactly how many different versions I have or how many times I've watched - the 4k versions with Atmos are sensational, the blu rays are now remastered and also have Atmos so I guuess I'll have to watch them also .....
