It's all a bit he said, she said isn't it? Trent did refer to him as Porl when explaining the beginnings of the band. At the end of the day, he's in the Hall of Fame for his (not insignificant) contribution to a band that has evolved & changed continuously for 4 decades. He knows full well how The Cure works. I'd be damn proud of that as far as lifetime achievements go. I don't recall any of the others moaning on social media for a bit of extra attention.

So I just watched the red carpet interview with the current band members (saw the live interview with Perry and Lol last night before heading to the show). I cannot remember EVER having seen such a cringe-worthy interview. That was truly painful to watch. Jason looked like he was trying to suppress either hurling or having an epic, profanity-laden Tourette'e-esque outburst. Next time, they'd be better off getting either people who live in the subway tunnels or local school children to do the red carpet interviews.
And yes, it seems like Reeves was acting like somewhat of an "emotional support animal" for Simon, who I can only assume wanted to rip Carrie Keagan's head off her shiny little body. I noticed when they took the stage for the actual induction after Trent's speech it also looked like Reeve's was physically supporting Simon a bit. Maybe he was sloshed, or maybe he just really didn't want to be there as a whole? Not sure.
Simon was throwing back the drinks at their table! He looked to be having a great time! Every time I looked at their table he was chugging.
