I should have mentioned that I went to see Simon's son's band In Tyler We Trust last night.
Have to say, I was (genuinely...) pleasantly surprised: they're a good little band! Probably not to everyone's taste because it's 'gritty punk rock', but my foot was tapping (always a good sign!)
(I've written slightly more in the Other Voices and Noises section.)
Had to chuckle though coz I spent the evening stood next to Simon's older brother Ric, who I recognised from a couple of my friend's photos on Facebook who he is pals with.
Not by any kind of choice, you understand, I'd nabbed a spot by the Front-of-House desk earlier on in the evening coz there was a comfy seat and I had emails to write and he just happened to choose that spot too when he arrived.
No, I didn't say, "Hi", he's taller than me and was wearing big boots - and I don't fancy being stomped into a greasy splat on the floor.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Nope, that they ain't. It's more folk rock really.
But I actually prefer SFS to All Living Fear, to be honest. He does that sort of music rather well.
I actually met Matt at WGF years ago: I was working for Alien Sex Fiend at the time and Matt and I got on like a house on fire! He and his missus are lovely people. Love 'em both to bits!!
