I’m interested in how you celebrate christmas in the country you live in.
What do you eat?
What traditions do you have in your country?
Whay traditions do you have in your family?

I’m from the cold and wet Denmark!
We celebrate christmas on the 24th december, where we eat christmas dinner and after that we walk around the christmas tree while we sing. When we are done walking and singing, we open presents.
After the presents, we have coffee, some cake and candy, and sometimes, when everything is silent, we drink a beer or a soda.
When I was a child, the christmas tree came in on the 23th december, and we decorated it. My mother still keeps that tradition, where I take the christmas tree inside much earlier because of the daughters.
My mother removes her christmas decoration on the 6th january - in denmark that day is called holy 3 kings’ day, and it’s an old tradition in denmark they christmas lasts until that day.
I remove my christmas stuff right after new year, maybe 1st or 2nd january. Maybe I even removes it before new year, haven’t decided yet, and I dont have a tradition about it.
On christmas eve we eat duck. Some families eat goose, turkey or a prochetta-ish roast.
Usually with white boiled potatoes, small boiled peeled potatoes in caramel, chips, pickled red cabbage, gravy and blackcurrant jam and pickles.
After dinner we eat ris a la mande, which is ricepudding with chopped almonds and whipped cream. There is a tradition to put a whole almond in, and the one who gets it gets a present. The game is not to tell if you get it. Not until everybody are done eating.
