I would have not related "And Nothing is Forever" to the Disintegration album; for me it doesn't have that multi-layered quality.
for me it sounds like it could have been in RS solo album,if any will ever see the light of day,it reminded me somehow of 'A Very Good Advice' (Alice In Wonderland)
Different pair of ears for sure, huh?

Also I don´t see the slightest clue that the album will actually be out by April this year. That´s only 10 weeks away. I will be pleasantly surprised if it comes true, but if there will be a new cure album this year I stick to my assessment that it will be probably released at the end of the year (in the fall).
once upon time, they released an album once a year or there by, those were the days
This is very true. I think, early on, especially signed to a major label (fiction being owned by polydor), there was contractual obligations to do that which would have been a lot of pressure I'd imagine. As they got bigger, they probably were able to get a better deal which didn't pin them down to that tight a timetable. I was thinking about the whole timeline behind this new album. After 4:13 Dream, Porl was ejected leaving them a bit stuck. Roger rejoined & a year later Reeves joined & they basically did little else but tours & festival circuits. By the time they got time to seriously write & start work on the new material in 2019, personal tragedies hit more than one of the band, putting the brakes on everything. Then, when the turmoil seemed to be passed, covid paid the world a visit. Effectively pressing the pause button on all the recording process. Not only that, it also meant they couldn't even play & their entire road crew were left with large shortfalls in their income. Hence the special crew merch they sold to try to raise funds for them. Robert then admitted he was the gating point as he hadn't recorded vocal tracks he was entirely happy with while it seemed, at least according to Roger, everything else was done. By the time the world re-opened, the public were Jonesing to go to concerts again & so, the touring started in 2022 where we started to get a taste of the new songs. Add to all this the fact that since 4:13 they haven't had a label &, let's be honest here, without a label & its production/distribution abilities, a band as big as The Cure are pretty screwed if they want to release something. Especially given all the crazies who insist on having a vinyl LP on release day. I am sincerely hoping that now there is a label lined up at least & that there'll be a pause enough now to finalise what has been recorded with no more distractions. It has been too long. But, & I am trying to be the eternal optimist I know, I think there have been some legitimate reasons, 2 years of which didn't just affect The Cure. Hang in there everyone. It'll be here when it's here
Just as an add on to the above, my feeling is that there are some songs on the album that are deeply personal to various members & they probably want to make sure they do those justice.
