did you liked or do you still like BLOODFLOWERS album?
I still like most of the songs musically to various degrees (especially "Out of this World" and the title track) and I listened to it very often when it came out, but my feelings for this record somehow cooled down over the years. I do not think it is quite as good as I thought back then and I rarely listen to it anymore. I am not a big fan of the production (actually quite from the beginnning). I do not like these somehow distracting samples (?) and Pro Tool Loops (?) that sometimes feel out of place and somehow gimmickly. I don´t know if those are the correct labels (therefore I set questionmarks) but I think I read somewhere else those words for what I mean. I think it was kind of hip to do such things in the early 2000 but it felt very fast dated to me. Also some more rocky songs like "Watching me Fall" and "39" were somehow held back from really taking off because of the production (in my opinion) whereas for example the Trilogy-Live-Versions of these songs fare much better.
Why do you ask? Is the reason that the new album probably will sound a good deal like Bloodflowers (also the same producer from what we know)?

Yes and yes.
For me 'Bloodflowers' was and still remains the last true CURE album in what means in my soul CURE.
Not that i don't like the last two records,i do like them.
But the self-titled actually feels like a compilation from what the band has done over the years (which feels quite right for being named THE CURE) and '4:13' was RS experiment and Porl's wah-wah's,not bad not so good either as a result though.
Personal opinion(s) of course.
Anyway back to topic, pretty sure i will adore the 'Songs Of A Lost World' album
p.s. : if it will ever be released and be lucky enough to listen it

For me, 4:13 Dream is just a nightmare I wish I could have woken up from. I only save Underneath The Stars, The Hungry Ghost and Switch.
The self-titled album is The Cure as tribute band of themselves. One great song (Going Nowhere), a couple of good songs held back by the production (Labyrinth and Before Three), a couple of alright songs (TG&B, Fake), but the rest is quite modest for Cure standards. It could have been better with A Boy I Never Knew and Please Come Home in it, both very good and, what a pity, never officially released... which, I guess, brings me back on topic... the new album...
For me the self-titled album is clearly the bottom and leans heavy into self-parody territory with a very annoying sound/production. I actually prefer 4:13 Dream over the self-titled one. Besides the already mentioned "Underneath the Stars", "Switch" and "The Hungry Ghost" I also like "The Reasons Why", "The Real Snow White" and "Sleep When I´m Dead" (reworked "Head on the Door" outtake).
And yes offtopic, but since we really have not anything to talk about regarding the new album...

I'm guessing it'll be back to radio silence regarding the new album.
Interesting. I feel like they haven't been silent about it and the fact band members besides Captain Smith have spoken about it a bit when asked and not lost their hands means that yes, it really is going to come out. And I think it will be soon.
Would be kind of interesting to know when they last talked about it publicly. Mostly RS I guess. Anyone knows?
Off my head I think the last to say something about it was Reeves, although just indirectly, when he mentioned that during the tour they were recording all gigs and they might use some of the recorded material in the context of the making of the album (e.g. pick a solo guitar version from one given show, etc)
Thanks, I remember reading that now. Robert didn't do any interviews at all this year I think?
Nothing I'm aware of. By the way, what Reeves said in the interview above made me think that they were still far, far away from having a "nearly finished" album.
That was just before starting the US leg of the tour.
I think not much has changed with regard to the state of the album since then.
Essentially, they recorded a bunch of songs in 2019/2020. They played 6 of them live in this tour. That's all we really know.

was just listening a live version (from somewhere'22) of ENDSONG and what i have to say is this : Dear Robert Smith you can release it as a single (one track) album and call it Song Of A Lost World Personally it won't bother me at all, already love it. But then again i (almost) love any release of The Cure
