Hands up who thinks ICNBTS and SITL will no longer be on the album cos the live versions are getting released with Anniversary.
**Raises hand**
They'd already gone the same way as other new songs like "boy I never knew", and had been dropped before hydepark.
So I very much doubt ICNBTS and SITL will be on anniversary!
Not even "anniversary" will be on anniversary.
They were played the week before Hyde Park, as part of the RFH show being released with Hyde Park. If they're going to be on the album then I'd expect them to get cut from the Meltdown show.

I thought it was just hydepark being released, not meltdown?
I don't know why they would cut new songs from a live video if they release meltdown.
When they released the play out video, that had unreleased songs that went out a year later...letter to Elise/Cut/Big Hand/Wendy Time
Oh that's cool meltdown being released too. It was a lot better setlist than hydepark and actually representative of the 1978-2018 years which hydepark spectacularly failed to do.
I still don't think releasing live versions of ICNBTS and SITL would affect whether they make a new album.

Oh, I just saw the article about a new interview Robert gave in Japan. He now suggests that the new album will take further to come out. He has to do vocals. Well, I was thinking this would happen but still I have to admit I am so ready for a new record that I am frustrated with the release date going from March to October to probably next year. But I will try to be patient! it has already been over 1o years and I anticipate I will love the new record whenever it is released!
This time round it really does sound like something might materialize. Their fairly short and unchanging festival sets suggest that their focus is elsewhere at the moment. I guess that is a good thing. I can't see it being released this year though. Time will tell, I guess.
some hope/fantasy in regards to getting the new album this year: Nick Cave (belated happy birthday last weekend) is putting out a surprise new double album with the Bad Seeds on October 4 on digital platforms with the physical manifestations arriving on November 5. do we think maybe Robert is thinking of a similar plan?
If I say ‘I would prefer not to see more new Cure albums’ am I completely alone? Does anyone else think that, after the last records and the looooooong time since the last one, those are signs that may not lead to anything really good at all? . What are the chances of getting something much better than 4:13 or The Cure? Is anyone confident that we can still hope for a new but yet classic Cure album?. Sincerely, I don’t.
Needless to say I will be more than happy to be wrong.

I'm totally confident they can release a classic Cure album.
Robert will be fully aware of the mixed response to the last two releases tc/4:13, which is probably why it's taken them so long to release something new. He knows it's make or break time and the new album has to be a total classic, at least as good or even better than their last great album, Bloodflowers.
One of the most positive signs for me that they are working on something very special was hearing Roger's excited reaction about how epic the new album sounds. Roger is usually pretty honest about the band's music whereas Robert always claims their new album is their best ever.
With songs like please come home/it can never be the same, they are still capable of writing brilliant songs. It's making sure all the best songs appear on the album, tracklisting has produced problems in the past.
I hope he's also taken note of the production/loudness issues of the last 2. They had some good songs on them that don't sound great production wise.

But we need something new to disagree about
Yes! Now the evict thread is dying, we need something new.

I understand there are fans who never want the Cure to release another new album/song apart from live albums and doing concerts of the same 20-30 songs.
I'm the opposite, they became my favourite band because of their creativity, the huge run of different yet amazing albums, the way a new album would be the centrepiece of the tour's setlist. I'm totally excited about a new album, I know they are capable of a masterpiece.

Think about us younger fans that haven't experienced a Cure album launch yet!
I missed 4:13 by a year or so before I'd call myself a proper fan.
