I would recommend somewhere with good connections with Metro (underground) Line 8. Mad Cool is located quite far from downtown (it's actually out of the city, close to the Airport), so it could be a good idea to be close to a Line 8 station. Otherwise, your are going to have quite a long trip to reach the venue.
How's the festival like? Is it open until sunrise or it closes right after the last show of the night?

Get a ten tickets card. Its the best way to travel. You can use it on buses and subway. You can get them on any metro station machine. Credit cards allowed and ha nterfa e in English, French and german, if I recall correctly.
if you run out of tickets, the card can be recharged.
