Hello, and thanks to those who've already helped me re. Hyde Park - much appreciated.
I originally sought the Community out with a view to finding another lone Cure-lover to have a drink with at Hyde Park, but it seems like such a great place that I wanted to say a proper 'hello' and 'thanks', and spend some time here. Shame I picked such a rubbish username but there's no going back now
I got into The Cure when I was 15 or so, first due to friends' influences and then my first live show - Crystal Palace Bowl in 1990. I've seen them three times since and although mundane-life-stuff has taken precedence over the years, I've never strayed far from their music.
Looking forward to exchanging thoughts with you and hopefully meeting some of you on 7/7.

Hi there.
I can relate in terms of "finding another lone Cure-lover." These days I have a guaranteed gig-buddy in my husband, but I've never had another friend who loves TC as much. This is a great place to be able to obsess over them when "non virtual world" connections don't really intersect with your personal musical taste so much.
Thanks for the welcome - wish I'd sought you out sooner.
steve and elfink, very happy Crystal Palace memories. Do you remember 'A Forest' with the lights in the trees and the reflection of the stage on the water?
Ah @notkristie, you married well! My husband doesn't complain when I play them, but he doesn't love them either. My brother does, but unfortunately he's away on 7/7 so I'm going it alone for the first time. Still, his loss is my gain, as I've found kindred spirits as a result, and if my ticket works out, hopefully I'll meet some of you on the day.
Look forward to crossing virtual paths with you all soon.
