Thinking about 'Cut Here' and 'The Boy I Never New'could be more personally difficult to sing/play for a band member, rather than a technical reason. Could be the same for Apart and Bare...
You know I often think of this and I think, and I could be wrong, Robert wrote these songs and each one of these songs have meaning for him maybe singing or performing certain songs brings back bad memories for him. Maybe that's why we don't hear a lot of songs anymore that we'd like to hear.
All valid reasons, thus far, for possibly not playing those songs live anymore.
A couple of other possibilities:
1) RS could simply have decided he doesn't stand behind certain songs as much anymore. Maybe he's either bored with with them or has a certain form of writer's remorse (i.e., "that wasn't so great", "wish I'd done it differently", "it doesn't resonate with me anymore"). So maybe a need to distance the band from those songs.
2) Perhaps certain songs just don't fit into the overall feel of the show they are going for anymore.
This thread begs the question: since it was such a personal, timely song for the 2016 tour, will be hear It Can Never Be the Same live again?

Sure but 1) he still sings Faith & pornography & disintegration songs which are probably full of emotions for him 2) he is not a teenager anymore so, i don't really believe/understand that when you are 60 years old you can not sing a song for this reason. C'mon ! ;-)

I think there has to be a balance & the need to know your audience before you decide what songs to play & not to play. Absolutely no point in wheeling out a bunch of obscure album tracks & B sides for a festival crowd for example. That's one aspect I suppose. The other is that he just doesn't want to play them anymore.

Agreed. And also he seems to be having more fun with the pop songs anymore. And the festivals are acquiring more fans many of them younger and odds are they are wanting the poppy stuff. Stereotype there a little, I know, but I was a witness to this at Madison square garden.. Not one person in front of me or in back of me had a clue when they played pornography. Zippo. Totally clueless.
