This may just be celebrated in the U.S. today, so excuse the US-centric post.
I'm not much one for "Hallmark holidays" but as a mother, I want to wish all the other moms a happy day. Nothing can compare to mothering, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's certainly unfathomable, I think, unless you've been there.
So to all the forum mums (I know of ninja and cradlehag, at least) appreciation for all the blood, sweat, and tears you put in each day. The risks and rewards are unparalleled.
This is a lovely post -in the UK it's a different date. I wrote something about it last year, will see if I can find it. Hope you are having a lovely day? X
And how wonderful that you are so involved with breastfeeding. So weird to speak of on this forum, but I so loved breastfeeding and have thought about becoming a resource for other women since it's such an important matter / advocacy cause, IMO. I feel incredibly passionate about it on so many levels. I breastfed our son for 2 1/2 years and loved all except perhaps the occasional biting incidents and kicks in the face with gymnastic nursing. I used to pump my milk by hand at work at the employee break table with no second though about it. My nursing days are over for good, but it was such a sweet time. Save

Ah, thanks. I Still help a bit, just writing articles - I used to do face to face help and be on a telephone helpline too. I find it too much now to juggle three kids, my elderly relatives and a teaching job.
Do get involved if you can though - everyone I supported was so glad of it.
