I'm baffled as to why Buckingham serviced the media before the band. In addition, he did seemingly cave in to requests he postpone his solo project just to fit in with FM's plans.
The band change their story every time they've been asked, I wouldn't trust them to admit they knew about the legal business even if they were aware! The last 2 years have been a saga of missed opportunities and niggling. The Buck/McVie album was supposed to be the swansong for the classic line up but Nicks just wouldn't do it. It does feel like they've squandered an awful lot of good will from their long-term fanbase.

One thing that made me chuckle in the article was that the band were "plotting" the tour. Is that different to planning? It sounds so much more sinister doesn't it?
Difficult to see how Fleetwood and Nicks can justify this, the timeframes make it look so pre-meditated. Even if the tour makes the UK, I don't think I'm up for it
I think Lindsay is going to win this lawsuit. I love FW but there has always been this incredible turmoil with them.
Had my arm twisted (didn't take much twisting though!)
I'm seeing them Saturday night. Will let you know how it is. I was surprised that they are basically sold out with the controversy. I splurged on this one & got killer seats on a presale. Capacity for shows is more than 20,000. I've been reading that Neil Finn is fantastic. I'm not surprised. I've been a fan for over 35 years since Split Enz "True Colours" came out. I've met him more than once & he's truly a nice guy, too. Nothing put on. Very funny with a great dry sense of humour. I'm looking forward to it. There's some clips out with some killer guitar from Mike Campbell. He's been a fave maybe a little longer than Neil even. I would've went to see Lindsay too but he didn't play Seattle on his solo tour. I think the troubles had been building for a long time & I heard that there were some shows where Lindsay was "phoning it in".
I honestly couldn't care less about Finn or Campbell - especially as they have their own songs in the set which means less Mac back catalogue getting played.. And they've already replaced Storms with Gypsy - grrr! But it's a rare opportunity to see a show with an old mate I don't see often - when the show comes round it'll be 29 years since we last saw Mac together which is a bit scary. Pretenders getting the support slot made a big difference too, love the current line up
Be interesting to see what you think! I saw the 2009 and 2015 tours, when did you last see them play?

The last time I saw them was when "The Dance" came out. Excellent show. I've seen Lindsay solo since then, including the wild tour where he had the huge band. 3 drummers, 5 guitar players, etc. I also saw the "Rumours" tour when I was in high school. In a break on the FM tour, Neil & Liam Finn are playing in your part of the world. Small, cool venues. Nathan is going in Bristol. Show is in an old church that has been converted to a concert venue. Very small. Neil's whole family is in the band. Wish I could see that! FM also dropped "I Got You". Hoping it comes back. Neil is pretty popular in this part of the states. Surprised that FM hasn't been doing "Silver Springs". By far my favorite Stevie Nicks song.
They've played Silver Springs last few times I've seen them, at least Stand Back has stayed out of the setlist.. . Songbird is gone though, mainly due to Christine's arthritis apparently - I don't think she is playing very much at all.
I'd be happy to see some of these in the setlist:
Over And Over Blue Letter Storms Hold Me Seven Wonders As Long As You Follow The Green Manalishi Station Man Bermuda Triangle
The show was pretty wonderful overall. 1 tends to forget just how great Christine McVie is. She did fine on the keyboards. Rather than Songbird, her & Stevie did an acoustic All Over Again at the end. Mike Campbell has taken over as the musical leader of the band. He spoke more in this show than all the times I've seen him with Tom Petty put together. Also sang Oh Well which totally ripped. I think Lindsey is a great guitar player but Mike Campbell is a level above. Killer. Same thing for Neil Finn vocals. Lindsey is a great singer but Neil Finn is better & blended in well with Christine & Stevie. His vocals on Monday Morning, Go Your Own Way & Second Hand News were fantastic. Don't Dream It's Over (after a long intro by Mick about what the song meant to him) got 1 of the best responses of the night. The entire arena was lit by people holding up there cell phones. That was followed by Stevie & Neil doing Landslide. World Turning was amazing although the drum solo could be a bits shorter it was fun. Now to Stevie. Her voice was great for the most part & she didn't babble too much this show. She had a little problem during Gypsy but rebounded nicely. The Tom Petty tribute was very touching. Pictures from her personal collection showed on the screen of her & Tom over the years & she put everything she had into the song, kind of like Silver Springs in The Dance. Very emotional, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Pretty huge thumbs up for the show. 1 thing that is good is basically they rotated lead vocals between the 3 singers. I like Stevie but don't think I could do a whole show of just her. About a third of the songs was just right. If you get the chance to go I would recommend it. It's a different vibe than before, less tension more happy which is good for that music. Finally, they had a backline of 5 people (guitar, keyboards, percussion & 2 singers). That's less than they've had in the past. While Lindsey was missed it was made up for.
They were alright but they dropped every single deep cut and played the most middle of the road, pedestrian hits set - same old set they play all the time with the 2 covers tacked on. All The Things You Do, Monday Morning, All Over Again, Hypnotized, Storms - all gone

Ahh but they played hypnotized. A Bob Welch classic. Swoon

I love it but it was only played in the US Dropped before Europe, Storms was replaced by Gypsy. Again. The others weren't even replaced so there are less than 20 songs on the setlist now.
So frustrating when 2 covers have been added instead of Mac classics. Oh well...
