I have respect for Porl changing his name to Pearl, but speaking in the past tense, I will always call him Porl. I have turned on a friend to his incredible guitar playing and am trying to put together a mix of his amazing solos on live recordings.
So far I have included -Doing The Unstuck from Show (He is mental on that one) A Night Like This, Primary, Why Can't I Be You? Never Enough, End and To Wish Impossible Things (From Show)
-The Blood and A Letter To Elise (From Unplugged)
-Fascination Street and Disintegration (From Entreat-original mix)
-In-Between Days, Just Like Heaven, Plainsong, It's Over, Shake Dog Shake (From the 4 Tour)
Any further suggestions, whether it be Porl shredding or just doing amazing atmospehrics?
He was amazing on The Wish Tour. I saw them 5 times that year. I agree Czuczu A Night Like This that bridge! Wow!! Holding a guitar while playing keyboards is quite the trick as well. During The Top Tour. Oh and then putting it down to play sax!!
I love Porl's playing, very hard to imitate and so often on the verge of being sloppy but never crossing the line - so distinctive. It's a crime Mr Smith buried him in the mix so often!
I totally forgot his crazy sax - Give Me It is amazing in Orange.

Nassau NY X2, Philly 2X, Burgettstown, Nassau (the first one May 15h) A Forest is awesome.
From the Wish tour, End and Never Enough for sure. Those songs never sounded as good without him in my mind.
I agree he was amazing during the wish tour and I still adore Pearl but Reeves guitar work on never Enough is stellar. Simply amazing. It's forever his song.

Agreed! I remember being VERY upset when Porl/Pearl left; however, I find myself deeply in love with Reeve's guitar-playing abilities so it all worked out in the end.

I like that they're having fun with Never Enough these days too and it's bloody perfect for Reeves but it doesn't sound much like they performed it in '92. Just very different takes is all
