They've stopped doing it of late, but on the 4Tour Primary was (or at least felt) so "ploddy". Since then they've pulled it back into shape & the energy is all there again.
Like this, steve? I completely agree. It's one of my favorites to hear live, but not like this.

Yep. I think they also slowed to OHY on that tour too. Glad they've now picked up the pace though

Listening to two versions of Primary from '80 (the outtake version from Faith deluxe and this live recording from Lancaster University) they're still markedly slower than the album version, but still aren't as trudging as the one from the 4Tour.
Maybe it has to do with the effects they are using with two slower tempo versions ('80 vs 4Tour)? The '80 version just seems to have more bounce or springiness to it, despite being slower. Save

So I've been thinking about this particular song again, steve , since you mentioned it and I now have more versions of it to which to listen.
