Did Robert, to write this song (1991? 1992?), looked into the head of the big bastard I would be from 2007 to 2008?
It's almost my story from those years, except that I loved the girl and tell her often. Of course, in the end, we broke-up...
Strangely, I absolutly adored the song long before really trying to understand what kind of relationship it was describing.
Of course, once I was dumped, those lyrics became "like ice into my heart" for me, and for a long time.
The guitar solo around 3.40 moved me deeply of course and I was more than once close to tears. So tense, so heartbreaking and, for me, so full of memories.
If I'm not mistake it's starting with Wish that Robert started to write songs not only from his point of view, right? I've been wondering if anyone knows what's the story behind this song. A friend of mine once asked and I couldn't tell anything.

It's like I'm an observer and I'm not actually involved, I'm not emotionally involved at all in this song. I'm just singing it quite dispassionately, but trying to get involved with the two protagonists in the song and singing each of their point of view. (Manor Studios interview 1992)
