With the international break over I’m pretty sure a few FPL managers are examining their walking wounded ahead of this week’s action.I know I am.
As it seems like 2 weeks since the last GW, I sort of forgotten what went on (apart from banners on airplanes), but thankfully the wonderful emilystrange gave us this summary
So well done to the IGM who took the week by 10 points & to Nikolas Vitus Lagartija ’s Damage Dunfermline who retain the Yellow Jersey & Crown. &, after struggling at the start of the season, emilystrange ’s Dancing In The Dark got the Big Shout Out with 82 points.
Over at the shed there was excitement as the builders turned up……..& were promptly told to bugger off again as they had turned up 10 weeks too early. We moved the goal posts over a bit to give the grass a better chance to grow on the left side of the field & so JoMo wouldn’t moan about it, so we’re ready. So welcome all to the Stadium of Faith for your GW30 thread.

I managed to have five outfield players injured and unavailable for this weekend and now Mané as well. Never sure it is worth it to take the four point hit for an extra transfer when there is no guarantee that the new boy will even be selected never mind make up the points deficit, especially with the inevitable squad rotation when they slip in an extra round of games midweek ...
No time to rest. As GW30 closes, only a couple of days until GW31, so I’ll rattle this off quickly
The Mersey Side derby was the curtain raiser & Koeman (thanks to international casualties) was forced to field a few whipper snappers. & it was debutant, Pennington, who drew the toffees level after Mane’s early goal. But in an intense, physical battle, Liverpool upped the gears & cruised to a 3-1 win. Burnley held off a Kane-less Spurs until midway through the second half while struggling Hull overcame West Ham to take all 3 points. With Shakespeare in charge, the poetry has returned to Leicester’s game with a 4th win on the trot & Moyes is adamant Sunderland will stay up. Yeah, about that David…. Biggest shock of the day was Palace’s lightning comeback against Chleski at The Bridge as Big Scam had to rely on extra chewing gum with a full 10 minutes of injury time for the Eagles to hang on. Untidy & West Brom sent everyone to sleep with a draw that saw JoMo in fine fettle afterwards. Not to be outdone by that snoozefest, Southampton & Bournemouth both suffered a bit of a cow’s erse/ banjo day with Arter putting the ball into row Z from the spot. A third 0-0 draw in a relegation battle had Swansea & ‘Boro share the points. The final showdown of the weekend unfolded at The Emirates. First blood to Citeh as Sané put the Mancs ahead early on. Walcott made the most of some woeful defending to level but the Gunners’ equally Swiss cheese-like back line left Aguero in acres of space to regain the lead. But the second half saw Mustafi rise to the occasion, heading in on 53 minutes to equalise. & there the scores stood in what was a very entertaining game. But the GW has added to FPL managers’ woes with Winks coming off second best to a drinks holder, landing him in hospital, Mané knacking his knee, Wanyama with one of those mythical “knocks” & Dann getting his knee well & truly Costa’d.
In the land of FPL despite injuries & shipping points, the EIB coasted to a 30 point win to take them to a 273 point lead overall. The stays put as Nikolas Vitus Lagartija’s Damage Dunfermline maintains their Chelski-like grip. & this week’s goes to schmed’s The Clash FC weighing in with 64 points. Right choice of captain there G. Let’s have a looky at the table….
In the H2H it was the EIB wot won it (just) by 2 points as they now hold a 20 point overall lead But Nikolas Vitus Lagartija’s Damage Dunfermline’s vice-like grip ensures the in Scotland. & the table….
So the shed is rocking once again & we are all set for the quick turnaround…maybe….ahem… The pitch seems to be in good shape…except maybe that sinkhole over there. But we’ll kick some mud & stuff into it. Should be okay by the weekend we think. Thanks to everyone for dropping by & playing again & now over to emilystrange for GW31
