I was just thinking that I joined this board ages ago, but never posted. I think I know why. In long years past, I loved getting on a board, but there were times when things went horribly wrong, when I, regrettably, engaged in pissing contests, sometimes with people who had once been friends. Despite the down side, it was lovely to exchange posts on all sorts of topics, some Cure-related, some not, with people who loved The Cure as I did.
So I'm sitting here after have a look at COF and seeing that comments are no longer permitted, and wondering if and where people are talking. I'm also wondering why, at my age (a bit older than Robert), boards still beckon. I'm also still smarting from the bitch fights of long ago, still find them mortifying, and thus am a bit reluctant to once again become a regular on a fan forum. On the other hand, I miss the interaction with people from all over, witnessing the passion and joy of fans when major news, or even some little tidbit, is released.
I'm also wondering what happened to the lovely people I met along the way. Have they mostly outgrown the need to be in a place like this?
Forgive me for droning on. It's just that I'm feeling terribly nostalgic and old, and wishing I could feel the way I did when I saw them play, like in in Miami (Ft. Lauderdale) and Seattle. It was a natural high that a great band conjured, and I so want to feel it again.
Thanks for 'listening' to an old girl from Florida who still loves The Cure.
Happy you decided to post 7bluestars. I hope you continue to do so...there are some passionate fans on this forum, but I feel like it's a real community too, a place where friendships are made and experiences are shared.
There are a lot of threads to explore here, so take your time or jump right in. I think you may even run into some folk you know from your previous online journeys, who knows!

yeah bring it, & enjoy it. There are a lot of great people on here, i'm sure you've seen it.... I do agree that sometimes interactions can be regrettable, especially when you (the writer, not you specifically) didn't intend to be a part of an aggressive or antagonistic conversation. Sometimes things go that way for no reason, or due to other people, or due to misinterpretation...
I have personally been involved in a conversation recently that went the wrong way, and I regret it.
Last Edit: Feb 22, 2017 1:12:27 GMT 1 by nausearockpig: there's not enough oranges here, but oddly enough, too many blueberries....
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
What a lovely intro. Hello & welcome to the community. & don't worry, no biatch fighting here. There's a special place for that sort of thing called farcebook . Dive right in here & have a ball
Welcome aboard, 7bluestars, make yourself at home. And yes, don't worry, no fights around, as long as you don't mention that "Tape" is song. You may be banned if you say such an heresy...
Have a great time, enjoy the forum, plenty of amazing people from all over the world here...
Nice to see some of my own sentiments expressed in your post, @7bluetstars, with a big difference being that this is the first message board I have tried. I found this place after the show I saw in Dallas last May, and I was bursting with excitement to be able to share with others my long personal passion for The Cure. Let me say that this a fantastic forum, and the members who lead it and post often are top. I have had a lot of nice interaction with a number of people here. However, it is possible to rub some the wrong way, or read too much into a retort, or feel somehow castigated. I strive to remember my own sensitivity and realize that everyone here is flawed as well. I will never win any popularity contests or be the Queen Bee. But maybe that is a good thing. I enjoy watching the characters come in and out and post about The Cure and many other interesting topics. Along with that, real life dramas have unfolded in the short time I have been a part of this, and it has been heartening to see the support and warmth offered. However apart I feel, the community continues to be a place I return to. This cyber world has become an outlet for me, so I hope you too can find your place in it.
I used to post a Smashing Pumpkins board a long, long, long time ago. I met some great people there but life happens. There was another Cure board some where... but I have very vague memories. I remember I used to be out, work or with friends, and feel the need to go home and check the board to see what is happening.
with you, 7bluestars, I almost didn't register here. I liked being in the background and reading what people had to say. I'm so glad I did.
Hi 7bluestars Welcome and I concur with the rest of the peeps above. Lots of fun things to do here. There are "disagreements" here at times but 99% of the time they are just healthy disagreements and tongue in cheek. No knock down drag out fights and if for some reason that does happen, the moderators are here to get a handle on it. No worries! So yes do have a look around. There are lots of fun Cure and Non-Cure topics to add your two cents to. Really nice to have you here!
Oh and Tape is a song and The Beatles were, are and always will be awesome...
